1 dash cinnamon

1 medium red apple such as gala or red delicious, halved and cored

1.In a small bowl, stir together peanut butter and cinnamon (start with a dash-cinnamon is potent stuff). Spread peanut butter mixture on each apple half.

Growing up, our snacks fit into three major food groups: exploded popcorn, deep-fried potato chips, and whatever it is that eventually becomes a Dorito. Now, our snacks can consist of any Powerfood combo-peanut butter on whole grain, a handful of nuts and chocolate milk, or a bowl of berries and yogurt. Or concoct one of these.
